Significant Chance of Mortality

Spent Friday night at the hospital with my father.  Exploratory surgery to find out what was wrong.  Wasn't expected to survive.  Doctor told me there was a "significant chance of mortality".  Would be a cool name for a band.

He made it and has 31 staples in his abdomen and my BostonStrong bracelet on his wrist.

And now the fun begins.

I should feel guilty but I hate visiting.  I hate it there.  I hate the smell, taste, look and the people.  The nurses have been nice and helpful but they bother me too and I don't know why.

And now to deal with the fallout.  Health, money, living, rehab, getting there, my work....everything is about to be thrown on it's ass and I have no idea what to do.

Everyone has been incredibly supportive.  I mean has blown me out of the water with the support.  And everyone keeps telling me how it's going to work out but I cant stop thinking- what if it doesn't?

Then I guess it doesn't and life goes on.

Well we will see I guess....

Can't take another heartbreak

Nope.  Can't do it.  That's why the Red Sox will win.  Because I can't handle another loss.

Two Superbowl loses to the Giants.  Ugh.  And their fans....funny story- minding my own business watching the game Saturday night and my buddies who are Giants fans text me talking shit about Boston.  Which is fun so I defend Boston and then get told I'm obnoxious.  Really weird.  But anyways....losing to those guys twice really stings.

Celtics loss to the Fakers in the Finals.  Oh Jesus.  We had it.  It was there.  Up so much in the Fourth and Rasheed Fucking Wallace fat ass ran out of gas.  Horrendous.  Should have been two for Pierce and KG but losing there- ugh.

Last year's Bruins. 17 seconds.  And they have gotten the free passes of all free passes for that choke job.  I think it's because it was pretty clear they were going to lose in Game 7 in Chicago.  But the ribbing I took from my Chicago family and friends- ugh.  Most of which I can take.  Most people don't go too far with it- but there was one that I almost said something very, very mean too but held myself back.

And I get it.  Waaaaahhhh.....Boston is always competing.  I know some poor schlub in Kansas City would love this- I'm just saying with all the victories there has been a lot of pain too.

I like St. Louis and have friends there but can't stand if they won.  This Sox team is so likeable- if they do this- after what the last year and a half has been....what a story.

Plus my daughter has never had a championship in her entire one year of life.  Can't let this stand.

Ugg....

Anyone who says that the call yesterday in overtime cost the Pats the game: 1) doesn't know football; 2) wasn't paying attention.

The Pats faded away in the second half and could not make any adjustments whatsoever.  McDaniels is a joke.  A terrible joke.

The run D was getting shredded.  Missing a lot of meat out there with Wilfork on IR for the rest of the year (and maybe his career) and Kelly with the usual Pats mantra, "Day to day".

Maybe the worst 2nd half/OT of Brady's career.  That last drive in the 4th was horrendous clock management.

So the Jets deserved to win that game.  And the call?  It was correct!  It's on the books.  Chris Jones either knew about it - like he said when he manned up after the game taking responsibility- or he didn't.  And if that's the case it's squarely on Bill.

But making the call for the very first time on a field goal attempt that had no shot in OT is questionable to say the least.

Positives is Gronk is back and didn't look half bad.  Going to keep getting better.  This team stays healthy then they could do some damage late in the year.

That being said- this is 100% irrational and shouldn't bother me but the fact that Brady or his sponsor gave all the teammates two pairs of Uggs today really pisses me off.  Like wait a day or two.  Don't know why- just bothers me to no end.

Never in history has facial hair made such a difference.

Just incredible.  Not sure if I believe in magic or chemistry when it comes to teams but this team is certainly providing the argument in favor.

I can't believe they are in the World Series.  Wasn't this supposed to be a bridge year?

With Yuengling coming back to Massachusetts that is exactly what will happen.  When I was young and single I used to bring this stuff back up from Jersey by the caseload when I would go down to Hoboken.

Very good.

But this is what will happen.  I will by CASES when I first see it.  It will take up all the space in my beer fridge.

My wife will try a sip and say it's gross.

It's all I will drink for a month.

Then I will need to try something else...just to mix it up and will go back to High Life.

Then fewer and fewer.

Then I wont want it anymore.

Then people who come over will see it, say it's awesome and I will be like - you are right- and back on it to buy more and more cases.

Book it.

There will never be reform

So with the EBT shutting down you would think that at least a few things would happen- thankfully rioting wasn't one of them.

But one- maybe it would serve as a wakeup call to these people who have made their lifestyle using these benefits that they should stop.

Maybe it would make the people that pay for these benefits realize that the people consider getting the benefits consider it their right and how f'd up that is.

Benjamin Franklin said that the worse thing you can do for someone poor is to make them comfortable.

And based on this, and the fact that nothing happened and nobody realized how foolish this situation is, I guess he was right.

I'll admit it- I gave up on both games.

Was DISGUSTED with the Patriots.  I still think they have issues but Brady's greatness is summed up in that last drive.  Austin fucking Collie.  It's a shame he is throwing to these receivers but it's to his credit he got it done.

And Papi...this is our fucking city.  Unreal.

What happened to courtesy

My gym is a fucking joke.  A joke.  It's ridiculously overpriced and the people working there don't give a shit.

Problem is- I don't have another option.  On the road a lot and they have different locations I need.

But when did it become the norm to 1) rip your shoes and socks off and just workout barefoot.  Fucking gross.  What am I Rex Ryan?

2).  Grab 15 sets of weights and line them up and do your super/cross/up/down/around/better than ever workout hogging all the weights for like 1/2 an hour.  And the trainers do it to.

Fucking absurd.  I hope that all the barefoot people drop the weights they are hogging on their feet.

This "protest" against WBGH because Koch is on the board is 100% liberal elitism.  Defines it perfectly.

Let me get this right.  Koch gives 18 million to WBGH.  Let me say that again 18 fucking million.

And liberals say that is irrelevant- the fact that he doesn't believe in their political agenda- has a different opinion- he's "evil" and needs to be kicked off the board.

Their big issue is that he doesn't believe in global warming....sorry, climate change- the world's not getting warmer so they had to change the name....and so he's evil and has to be off the board.  Also should be noted he has donated to NOVA- the science show which SUPPORTS GLOBAL WARMING.

So- according to a liberal elite- if you don't believe them you are wrong and evil, even if you have given more money then all of them will see in a lifetime, including to something he doesn't believe in.

How Rude....

The reason I've been so busy lately is work related.  Busy, busy, busy.

One of the things that I love about what I do is that every day I see something new.  And yesterday was no different.  The opposing counsel I was against was the rudest and most unprofessional attorney I've ever gone up against.

And I have no idea why.

Like I get defending your position.  But all you do is a disservice to yourself.  I mean I was actually embarrassed for the other side based on his behavior.

Plus- it's just easier not to live your life like that and give yourself a heart attack.  Unreal.

So in closing...be nice.

Idiots

The first thing I am going to do when I become supreme ruler is disband Congress.

Then I am going to take their salaries and set up a fund where families are given an all expense paid trip to D.C. to learn about our country's history.  And one of the parents will sit on Congress for the week.  Like jury duty.  And people will make common sense decisions.  And that will be the end of it.

Problem solved.

Can't be any worse than the assholes we have now.
