He won by sending out flyers to the largely black community implying he was black and an endorsement from his cousin, who shares the name of a prominent black leader.
Now- this guy is a piece of shit. Racist and anti-gay. He can go fuck himself.
But this is pretty clever. And unfortunately shows two things: 1) race matters to people voting, and 2) most people don't pay attention when voting to the issues.
